| Templar, a magnificent bull moose, wisest of all animals roaming the LaCloche Mountains, has urged his fellow beasts to confront the environmental ravages of man. The ensuing consequences are narrated by Serpento, an ancient snapping turtle, as we follow his tale of two beavers endeavoring to organize the animals. Castor the pious and Canaden the Rational initially unite in their common cause, but their simmering jealousies, festering into distrust and betrayal, finally explode into a series of brutal confrontations that foreshadow the future of our planet earth. |
